Preparation can make a big difference in the outcome of your Lemon Law inspection.
Before the inspection takes place, gather all relevant documentation, including:
- Repair invoices
- Service records
- Warranty documents
- Notes about when and how the issue occurs
You should also be ready to clearly explain the problem. Be specific. For example, instead of saying “the car makes noise,” describe:
- When it happens (cold start, highway driving, braking)
- What it sounds like
- How often it occurs
If the issue is intermittent, this is especially important—experts rely on your description to help recreate the problem.
Make sure the vehicle is in a condition where the issue can be observed. Don’t clean up or “fix” anything that might hide the defect.
Finally, plan to be present during the inspection if possible. Your input can help guide the expert and ensure nothing is overlooked.
