Arizona Lemon Law Mileage Offset: What It Means for Your Refund

If you qualify under Arizona Lemon Law, the manufacturer may deduct a reasonable allowance for use.

Arizona Mileage Deduction Formula

Arizona commonly uses:

(Miles at first repair attempt ÷ 120,000) × Purchase price

The first repair visit mileage is critical.

Arizona Example

Vehicle price: $50,000
First repair: 4,000 miles

4,000 ÷ 120,000 = 0.0333
0.0333 × $50,000 = $1,666

That amount may be deducted from the refund.

Arizona Key Notes

  • Defects must occur within 2 years or 24,000 miles.
  • The problem must substantially impair use, value, or safety.
  • Lease vehicles can qualify as well.

Arizona offsets are formula-based — not arbitrary.
